Trying Maintenence
One of my biggest strengths is also my biggest weakness. I get so excited and passionate about things that I deep dive into them, explore every facet, and then when it gets boring I switch to the next.
This has helped me rapidly try and gain experiences in many different outlets, however most of them I don't practice on a daily or even weekly basis, and end up hoping back and forth between them.
Recently I have hit many successes with a few of these outlets, and they are no longer just affecting me but many people now (Something I have always dreamed of). While I still find myself wanting to jump to the next exciting thing, I want to try and be a bit more intentional. Instead of building new tools and projects, I want to maintain and improve the ones that are already doing well. Instead of switching and finding new hobbies, I want to maintain and enjoy the ones that I can do on an daily basis.
Some of the things I want to do consistently and be more mindful of are:
- Writing (Journaling, Blogging, and just expressing my thoughts)
- Reading (I have a few great books on my list like Dune 3 and The Worldly Philosophers)
- Being Present
It may be hard to fight my unmedicated ADHD, but my schedule is already so packed with working full time, running a nonprofit, going through a masters degree, and not to mention at home responsbilities. I think it by not needing to always be productive and working on the next big thing, I can nurture the things that are already working out great for me. Not to mention I think some burnout is being experiences, so this will be a great break.
